AV Technology
AV Technology is a UKAS accredited European Notified Body (No. 1067) under regulation 16 (1) of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
Our accredited services include safety assessments for all categories of machinery covered by Annex IV in the Directive. Although the majority of machinery may be self-certified by the manufacturer (or their authorised representative within the EU), this is not the case for Annex IV machines.
We are accredited for the certification of all machines and components listed in Annex IV. We are also able to assist with the preparation of the Technical Files which are used to demonstrate conformance. For companies who have already prepared Technical Files, we can assess these and issue appropriate CE certificates.
Manufacturers of all machinery within the scope of the directive, which is sold in Europe have to ensure the safety of their products and issue a declaration of conformity with the Machinery Safety Directive - 2006/42/EC. This European Directive is implemented into UK law by means of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 (SI 2008/1597).
Note: Machinery in the supply chain prior to 29th December 2009 is subject to the requirements of Directive 98/37/EC. Directive 2006/42/EC replaces Directive 98/37/EC with effect from 29th December 2009.
